A released WWE star’s in-ring return has been confirmed after an 11 month hiatus from competition.

In April 2024 former WWE NXT star Von Wagner (real name Cal Bloom) was among several talents to be cut from their contracts, exiting the company along with former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, Cameron Grimes, Xia Li and others.

While all of those names mentioned returned to the ring following their WWE exits, Bloom has not competed since his match with Lexis King on the April 2, 2024 episode of NXT.

That is until this Saturday (March 15), as Midwest All-Star Wrestling has announced that Bloom will be competing at their Mayhem at the Mall event in Maplewood, Minnesota.

Bloom will be competing under his real name at the event, taking on Shay Diesel in singles competition in what will be his first ever match outside of WWE, having began his pro wrestling career with the company back in 2019.

The Osseo, Minnesota native competed predominantly on the NXT live event circuit until 2021, before becoming a regular character on the rebooted NXT 2.0. brand.
