Randy Orton has responded to reports that a back injury has been keeping him off WWE TV since WrestleMania 42.
Orton hasn’t been on TV since Mania 42 night one ended with Cody Rhodes retaining the Undisputed WWE Title against him, but with Orton then attacking Rhodes post-match and standing tall with the title.
Rhodes has been on TV regularly since then despite suffering a punt kick, but Orton has been away.
Today, it was reported that a back injury is the reason for Orton’s absence – Orton has had significant back issues for years that nearly cost him his career in 2022/2023.
Now, Orton has responded to those concerns, saying that he’s “just milking” his back injury at the moment. He wrote:
“Lmao just milking it guys, leave me alone I’m trying to enjoy my summer before I come back and take that #15”
Will Randy Orton Become A 15-Time WWE World Champion… Or More?
With how much WWE has been pushing it, it does seem like Randy Orton chasing his 15th World Title will be an ongoing story over the next few months.
It’s almost inevitable that Orton will get a babyface reaction when he returns and will likely continue to do so, and fans are going to want to see that 15th World Title win happen.
Unless Triple H doesn’t want Orton to surpass their currently tied tally at 14, a 15th win seems to be the way to go.
The question then becomes whether Orton could or should win number 16, 17 or even 18.
A 16th would tie him with Ric Flair in second place, a 17th would tie him with record holder John Cena, and an 18th would put him at the very top of the list.
The most likely scenario, all things considered, is that Orton gets his 15th and MAYBE a 16th, but WWE may want Cena to stand alone at the top of the record books for a very, very long time, if not forever.
