Randy Orton has opened up with an update on his role in WWE as a mentor to the younger talent on the roster.
As a 25-year veteran, Orton has taken on a locker room leader role in recent years with the next generation of talent coming through and learning from people like him.
On the WWE Elimination Chamber post-show today, he spoke about this role, saying:
“I never saw myself being in the role that I’m in now, and I’ll be honest, it’s quite fulfilling. It’s fulfilling.
“Like Je’Von Evans, bless his heart, he looked great out there tonight… seeing him, seeing Trick, seeing the other young guys.
“There’s a few guys down in NXT, Myles Borne’s one of them. There’s a lot of guys that I’m excited to talk to and I can tell that they’re excited to listen.
“I feel like there’s a certain lane that I’ve stayed in where I make little things mean something.
“Just last night, I was able to talk with a couple of young guys, and I could tell that they were really excited to hear what I had to say, and their eyes kinda got wide open, and they realized, ‘This Randy, he knows his s**t.’ And I do.
“I have a lot to give back. It’s fulfilling to me, it fills my lungs up with fresh air, it makes my heart beat faster. I love this business, and if I can do it 10 more years, I will, God willing.”

Tonight at Elimination Chamber, Randy Orton won the men’s Chamber match, so as things stand, he will be challenging Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania.
However, due to McIntyre getting involved in the finsh of the Chamber between Orton and Cody Rhodes, McIntyre will defend his title against Rhodes on this coming Friday’s edition of SmackDown.
