R-Truth has opened up on his WWE contract expiration and subsequent return to the company in the Summer of 2025.

At Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24, John Cena faced off against R-Truth in a non-title match, which was seemingly set to be Truth’s final match in the company.

A week later, Truth announced that his contract with WWE was expiring, with the company opting not to renew his deal, which led to a lot of backlash from both fans and those within the company.

6 days after Truth announced his contract expiration, he made his return to WWE television at Money In The Bank, attacking John Cena and officially re-signing with the company.

Speaking to Stephen A Smith on First Take, Truth opened up on his departure and subsequent return, saying:

“It was numb Steve, sometimes we lose and forget who we are. There are people my age and older, their time ain’t up. I think father time, each individual has it’s own time when it’s time, and we have time to make something happen within that time.

“I think everything that happened happened at the right time for me, because as we saw man, I’m more popular and valuable than I’ve ever been in my life and my career. Over hundreds of thousands of people showed and told me that.”
