A tag team from NXT has now officially been added to this Sunday’s July 13 WWE Evolution premium live event.
After Liv Morgan suffered a dislocated shoulder last month, plans had to be altered for Evolution, including those for the Women’s Tag Team Championship, which Morgan held alongside Raquel Rodriguez.
In Morgan’s absence, Roxanne Perez has taken over as Rodriguez’s partner, with a four-way title defense set for Evolution.
The three challenging teams were announced as being one team from Raw, one from NXT and one from SmackDown.
On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair earned their spot in the title match with a win in a three-way against Michin & B-Fab, and Alba Fyre & Piper Niven.
During tonight’s WWE Raw, the team from NXT was also announced, as it was confirmed it will be Zaria & Sol Ruca teaming up at Evolution.
Zaria & Ruca have been an established team for a few months now, often collectively referred to as ZaRuca.
Ruca is also the current NXT Women’s North American Champion, and she will defend that title the day before WWE Evolution at NXT’s Great American Bash against Izzi Dame.
Ruca is the WWE Speed Women’s Champion as well.
On tonight’s Raw, Roxanne Perez vs Kairi Sane took place, with Asuka making the save for Sane as she was being attacked two-on-one by Perez & Rodriguez post-match, setting up the Kabuki Warriors of Sane & Asuka to be the Raw representatives at Evolution.
