While they have yet to team up in WWE, Myles Borne and Stephanie Vaquer often share heartfelt messages for one another on social media, and Borne has now revealed how the couple first started dating.

Speaking with Denise Salcedo, Borne revealed that it was Vaquer who made the first move, as he was too nervous to talk with her backstage at NXT events.

Commenting on their relationship, Borne said:

“Honestly, when we first saw each other, we noticed. For the first couple of weeks, we knew we liked each other, but I would try to build up the courage to talk to her.

“As soon as we’d cross paths, I’d go the opposite direction, every time. She noticed it, I remember one time, we were backstage and I was coming in through one door to go to catering, and she was coming through another door.

“As we intercepted paths, I turned back around and walked out. I didn’t even eat, I said, ‘Nope, I’m not eating now. I’m just going to be hungry,’ because I was still trying to figure out what I wanted to say to her.

“Eventually she gave me no choice. She messaged me and she said ‘Hey, let’s hang out. Let’s go have dinner.’ I was like ‘Okay, now I have no choice, I have to just build up the courage, talk to her.’

“It was great, there was a connection from the first date. She’s just genuinely an amazing person, and I’m lucky. All the guys out there who are so mad, hey, I get it, but like I said, I want to win in every aspect in life, and that’s one of the aspects.”

Stephanie Vaquer has a big match lined up for WrestleMania 42, with the Women’s World Champion to defend her gold against Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan.

Myles’ Borne’s next North American Title defense takes place at the April 4 Stand & Deliver event, with SmackDown’s Johnny Gargano set to challenge for the gold.

With Stephanie Vaquer now an established Raw star, there is a chance that Myles Borne joins the red brand soon, as part of this year’s cohort of Raw-after-WrestleMania NXT call-ups.
