MJF Reacts To AEW References During Cody Rhodes & John Cena WWE Raw Promo

MJF has reacted to Cody Rhodes and John Cena dropping several references to AEW during their promo on WWE Raw (March 31).

For the third straight week of WWE Raw, Cody Rhodes and John Cena took to the ring to trade barbs ahead of their huge  Undisputed WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 41.

During their exchange Rhodes mentioned how he was booed in a company “he created”, referencing the negative reaction he received from many AEW fans towards the latter stages of his run there.

Following this Cena would go one step further and reference AEW President Tony Khan himself, saying:

“I make empires for billionaires. All you’ve ever done is steal money from their kids.”

With the comments triggering debate online, former AEW World Champion MJF took to Twitter to offer his take on WWE and AEW making references to each other on TV.

MJF wrote:

I truly don’t get why fans get up in arms when WWE mentions or references AEW.

Or when AEW mentions or references WWE.

If you want to be treated like children, watch Elmo.

Or better yet. Tell VKM to start a new promotion.

MJF is someone who has not been shy with referencing or naming WWE during AEW programming in the past, most notably ahead of his much touted AEW contract expiry in January 2024.

Unlike their previous meetings in Brussels and Glasgow, the segment between Rhodes and Cena ended in a physical manner, as Rhodes reversed Cena’s attempt to cheap shot him and turned it into a Cross Rhodes.
