AEW World Champion MJF has addressed the current state of the promotion and the business it has been doing.
MJF has taken some breaks from AEW TV over the past couple of years, but has been back as a regular presence throughout 2026 so far after winning the AEW World Championship at Worlds Ends on December 27, 2025.
In a new interview with Mostly Sports, MJF discussed how AEW is currently performing, and praised the upward direction things are currently going in.
He said:
“All Elite Wrestling’s never been better, ticket sales are up in every single market year over year, the ratings are up slowly but steadily.
“Professional wrestling is a rollercoaster, you have your highs, you have your lows, but right now we’re on a steady incline and, I’m gonna be honest, it’s pretty obvious why.
“MJF’s back and he’s got the World Championship.”

On last night’s AEW Dynamite, MJF lost an Eliminator match against Brody King, which means King has a guaranteed title shot against him in the near future.
In addition to his guaranteed defense against King, which currently doesn’t have a date announced, MJF is set to defend his title at Revolution against either Hangman Adam Page or Andrade El Idolo who have a #1 contender match coming up at Grand Slam Australia.
