Liv Morgan has addressed her return from injury at WWE Survivor Series 2025 and getting to share the ring with John Cena in his penultimate match.
At WWE Survivor Series 2025, John Cena defended his Intercontinental Championship against Dominik Mysterio at Petco Park in San Diego, CA.
The match was not only notable for being Cena’s second-to-last in his 23-year WWE career, but also for the return of Liv Morgan after a five month injury layoff.
Playing a crucial role in the finish of the bout, Morgan first appeared to betray her on-screen boyfriend Dominik Mysterio, before later hitting Cena with a low blow to set “Dirty Dom” for the win.
Appearing on What’s Your Story? With Stephanie McMahon, Morgan discussed her return, saying she couldn’t have planned a better scenario than what took place in San Diego:
“I couldn’t have planned a better return. Honestly if I had the choice to write out my dream scenario, that was over the top. I couldn’t have even written that return.
“That was such a full circle moment for me, growing up a WWE fan and such a John Cena fan. Like Chain Gang soldier down to my core.
“I never thought that I would interlap with him and be the reason he lost the Intercontinental Title. Also it just being my return and being a part of his retirement I was like ‘Wow, this is such a weird universal full circle moment.’”
