AEW’s Leila Grey has shared an update following her recent surgery, after suffering a torn ACL injury in late 2025.
Leila Grey’s most recent match saw her unsuccessfully challenge for Mercedes Mone’s TBS Championship on the December 6, 2025 AEW Collision episode.
With Grey revealing that she had suffered a torn ACL during the match, the AEW star has now taken to social media to share a post-surgery update.
Two weeks on from surgery, Grey shared a video to Twitter – which you can view right here – which was her own version of the meme “Nobody talks about how hard it is to go from this… to this…”
The first “this” was her competing on ROH, with the latter “this” being a clip of herself climbing the stairs with a crutch and leg brace.
Calling it the hardest two weeks of her life, Grey wrote:
It’s been 2 weeks since my knee surgery. Hardest two weeks of my life 😭 But I’m alright.
Working to get better every day. Doing what I gotta do to be who I wanna be 💪🏽
ACL injuries take a while to recover from, with stars typically out of action anywhere from six to twelve months following surgery.
While Leila Grey and AEW haven’t provided any specific return date expectations, and March ACL surgery date indicates that she won’t be back in a ring until September at the absolute earliest, with it more realistic to expect a return in late 2026 or early 2027.
With several wrestlers from the AEW women’s division currently on the shelf, Queen Aminata recently shared a positive update on her neck injury, stating that she is now pain free.
We wish Leila Grey a safe and healthy recovery.
