One of the biggest things missing from this weekend’s AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door show is former AEW and IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega, who is still sidelined with an injury.
Omega is undoubtedly one of the biggest influencers backstage in AEW, and his strong connection to NJPW will have played a big role in this show coming together.
While we don’t know when he’s going to be cleared to return, and honestly, he could very well be there on Sunday (June 26) at Forbidden Door, Omega is continuing to claim he won’t be at the show.
Earlier this week, AEW announced the official theme for the show, a song called “Achievement Unlocked” which was created by Mikey Rukus. Rukus has since taken to Twitter to share his excitement, and thanked Kenny Omega for his help.
Omega replied to Rukus’ tweet, saying he would at least be at Forbidden Door in spirit.
