A former John Cena rival has addressed the possibility of returning to WWE for the Last Time is Now tournament.

With John Cena set to wrestle his final match at the December 13 Saturday Night’s Main Event special, a tournament is being held to determine the 17-time world champion’s last opponent.

Following teases that some non-WWE stars could be involved in the tournament, there has been a lot of speculation about which stars with ties to The Champ would be available.

During an interview with the Lazy Booking Podcast on A2D Radio, Aron Stevens – fka Damien Sandow – discussed John Cena’s retirement plans, noting:

“I mean, his legacy speaks for itself, right? If there is a face of the PG era, or even the last 20 years, it’s John.

“Knowing when to say enough is enough – and that moment is different for everybody – for everything John has given to the business, I think this is a good send-off.”

When asked about the possibility of him entering the tournament, following his Money in the Bank cash-in history with John Cena, Steven’s shut the idea down, noting:

“That’s highly unlikely. A lot has happened between whatever that was and now, and I think John has had a lot of feuds with other people.

“I don’t think that’s going to be coming down the pipe.

Stevens has shared the ring with John Cena on numerous occasions, infamously unsuccessfully cashing in his Money in the Bank contract and losing to the then-World Heavyweight Champion on the October 28, 2013 edition of Raw.
