AEW’s Adam Copeland – fka Edge in WWE – has shared a post ahead of John Cena’s retirement match, giving a nod to his former rival.
With John Cena set to hang up his jorts for good after facing GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event, a number of stars have taken to social media to share tributes for him.
Adam Copeland has now shared a post on Instagram for John Cena. Copland posted two images, the first of him and Cena from an episode of South Park, and the second being him and Cena as puppets.
Considering John Cena never uses words to caption his Instagram posts, Copland somewhat fittingly captioned his photos with just two emojis:
👞🥃
Adam Copeland and John Cena shared the ring numerous times in WWE, with the duo trading several championships over the years, including the World Heavyweight Title.
The duo last faced off on the September 20, 2010 edition of Raw, with John Cena ultimately victorious.
Their most recent in-ring outings together saw them work as teammates, with Cena, “Edge”, Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio defeating CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, The Miz and Alberto Del Rio in a dark match at the March 28, 2011 SmackDown taping.
