WWE Raw star Je’Von Evans says he wants to team up with rapper Lil Yachty, and hopes it could happen “pretty soon.”
There continues to be an influx of celebrity involvement in WWE, whether it be musicians like Bad Bunny and Jelly Roll, or viral content creators like Logan Paul and IShowSpeed.
One name who has shown up on WWE TV a few times over the past couple of years is Lil Yachty, who will be appearing again this week on SmackDown after receiving an invite from Trick Williams.
In an interview with Bootleg Kev, Je’Von Evans named Yachty as the rapper he’d most want to team with in WWE, excluding Offset who has already appeared on-screen affiliated with Evans.
Evans explained:
“I think I’m gonna have to go with my boy Lil Yachty. Now Yachty is chill, but he’s a crashout – I don’t care what anybody says, Yachty is crazy, and he can throw hands for real.
“Once it has to be there, once you take it to that level, he’ll take it to the level with you. So I feel like me and Yachty can go crazy. And he loves the high flying stuff too.
“Yachty’s my dog, that’s my brother. Honestly, if we can get something that works, maybe we can make that happen pretty soon.”

Je’Von Evans Names Jeff Hardy As Main WWE Influence
In the same interview, Je’Von Evans was asked to name which WWE stars of the past have influenced him the most.
He replied:
“Honestly, Jeff Hardy. Jeff was just so himself. There was only one Jeff Hardy and everybody knew who he was. I feel like I took a lot of inspiration from that.
“I feel like also, just me studying the game. I study wrestling so much that I’ll see somebody do something, and I’ll be like, ‘Alright, how would I do that, how would I add my own little flavor and my own little swag to it?'”

WWE Needs To Be Careful With Celebrity Involvement
There are some celebrity names that WWE has brought in who have been runaway successes as far as their performances, as they’ve shown a natural aptitude for wrestling and the passion to match – namely Logan Paul, Bad Bunny and IShowSpeed.
Others perhaps don’t have the same natural gifts athletically, but dedicate themselves to the degree they can also be positives to the show, as we’ve seen recently with Jelly Roll.
However, there are also some disastrous cases where things collapse completely, which happened with Travis Scott last year when he was part of John Cena’s heel turn and was supposed to be involved in a match later in the year, but instead just disappeared (after injuring Cody Rhodes during the Cena heel turn angle).
Also, no matter how impressive some of the celebrities are when they come in, WWE does need to make sure that both fans and talent don’t get frustrated about spots being taken by outsiders instead of those who have put in the work week after week for years and years.
So while there are the obvious positives, WWE does just need to be careful not to overdo things with its celebrities at this point.
