Former NXT star Jazmyn Nyx has further explained her decision to leave WWE and the possibility of a return.
Nyx was abruptly written off NXT TV via a backstage attack a few weeks ago, and it soon emerged that she’d be departing the company after not agreeing to sign a new deal.
Unlike other recent departures, she was offered a new deal, but she wasn’t happy with the money she was being offered.
Appearing today on the Ariel Helwani show, Nyx, real name Jade Gentile, has further explained her decision to leave WWE and the reason behind it, as well as whether she could return in the future.
She said:
“I truthfully can say I was not expecting to leave, I wholeheartedly thought this was going to be my life, I was ready to put in the work and see where my journey took me, but it came down to making a living.
“Everyone needs to make a living and some people’s living looks different than others, and for me it was like, after my three years, being on TV for two, I expected there to be some sort of compensation for the work I put in, and it didn’t end up that way, and that’s okay, and that’s why I had to part ways.
“There was no bad blood or anything, it was just, I can’t make a living on this, and I value myself in this way which you guys might not yet.
“Who knows maybe in the future, value goes up and if they want me back, I’d love to go back, but in that moment it felt like the right decision for me.”

She later explained that she was offered the exact same amount of money that was on her previous contract, and she felt asking for a raise was understandable after the work she’d done for the past couple of years.
She tried to negotiate with WWE and come to a middle ground, but the company didn’t budge, so she decided to leave.
WWE has officially replaced Nyx in NXT‘s Fatal Influence faction with Lainey Reid.
