Jay White AEW Injury Return Update

An update has emerged regarding the return of injured AEW star Jay White, 10 months on from his last appearance for the company.

The March 29, 2025 episode of AEW Collision was the last time fans got to see “Swicthblade” Jay White compete inside an AEW ring – with the Bang Bang Gang frontman sidelined ever since due to a broken hand.

White would also undergo shoulder surgery during his absence, and Tony Khan confirmed in August that he was set to be out “for a long time”.

While there has been little update on White’s status since, the New Zealand born star did make an appearance at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 on January 4 to honor the retiring Hiroshi Tanahashi.

Despite this appearance boosting fans’ hopes of seeing the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion make a return in early 2026, that unfortunately may not be the case.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez stated that White will be out “for a while” but he was told that his return would come at some point in 2026.

Alvarez said:

“I have been told, and I don’t know what it means, but he’ll be back this year.”
