Jacob Fatu has opened up on how he needs to ‘pull his weight’ due to not wanting WWE fans to just see him as Roman Reigns’ cousin.

Jacob made his WWE debut back in 2024 after officially signing with the company over WrestleMania weekend that year, with Jacob joining Solo Sikoa’s New Bloodline alongside Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa.

Due to being a member of the Bloodline family, many fans see Jacob Fatu as just ‘Roman Reigns’ cousin’, and he’s now opened up on wanting to shed that label.

Speaking to Busted Open Radio, he said:

“Being so humble and everything, everybody knows Jacob is happy to be here. But the response I get now. The response I’ve been getting since I got here but, I see what type of position and motion we’re in right now. I see what we’ve got going on. But I gotta be able to pull my weight.

“Jacob Fatu I don’t wanna be known as the cousin. I’ve been doing this since the indies but I told Solo, it’s a different thing being on the indies to being here and I’m a year older than Solo, but Solo (will) tell me what I need to do to lace up in here. Because he’s been in way more PLEs than me.

“Solo was saying, ‘Make sure you’re able to bang with the rest of them and pull your weight.’ I don’t want people to just know me as Jacob, ‘Oh he’s just Roman and uce’s cousin,’ nah.”

Jacob came up short in his Elimination Chamber qualifier on last week’s SmackDown, though he remains in the mix with Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
