Brock Lesnar’s Money In The Bank Match Revealed?
WWE Backlash is now in the books so it’s time to look ahead to their next pay-per-view Money in the Bank. Two question marks hanging over the show surround Brock Lesnar. Will he be at the show and if he is, will he be defending the Universal Championship. As of now, Lesnar is reportedly confirmed for Money in the Bank for a championship match, but that answer presents its own question: who will he face? One person asked Dave Meltzer this on Twitter, suggesting that Braun Strowman could be next in line. Strowman faced Lesnar at No Mercy last year and again at January’s Royal Rumble – and it was made clear on commentary that the pair have unfinished business. Strowman also doesn’t have a feud right now, unless you count squashing Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn every week since the Superstar Shake-Up. However, in response to the Twitter question, Meltzer responded that Braun Strowman was, “One of two options.”
Meltzer doesn’t elaborate on who the second option is, but one would assume after his win against Samoa Joe last night and the screwy nature of their cage match at Greatest Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns is also in contention for the next Universal Championship match.
Jason Jordan Returning To Raw Tonight?
One person it likely won’t be is son of Kurt Angle Jason Jordan. Jordan has been out with an injury since February, just before he was about to start a program with Seth Rollins to lead into WrestleMania. Last week it was reported that he was now cleared for his return, and PWInsider are now claiming that not only is Jordan good to go, he will on Raw tonight from Long Island.
Alexa Bliss Injured?
Maybe he can pass on some healing advice to the former Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss. Bliss suffered another loss at the hands of Nia Jax on last night’s Backlash, but that wasn’t the only thing she suffered. WWE’s Twitter account announced after the show that Bliss has suffered a shoulder injury – with WWE.com adding that “Bliss is currently awaiting further medical evaluation.”
Although it was posted by WWE.com and could therefore just be kayfabe, Dave Meltzer confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Bliss legitimately injured her left shoulder, and speculates that it could have happened during Nia’s comeback when she was throwing her around.
Alexa Bliss was able to walk to the back under her own strength, but some other people walked out through choice.
Fans Walk Out On Backlash Main Event
Despite having a WWE Championship match on the card, WWE Backlash was headlined by SmackDown Live’s Samoa Joe vs. Raw’s Roman Reigns for… I guess pride? Was that what the feud was about? Roman Reigns won that match but there was a portion of the audience that didn’t see it. Not because their view was obscured or the power went out, but because they walked out of the building. Throughout the match there were chants of “this is boring”, “CM Punk”, “Delete”, “Rusev Day” and even more creatively, “beat the traffic”, and Twitter user Ray Falcone shared a video that showed fans taking that chant literally during the match. WWE’s own camera crew showed this too, as they cut to the crowd for a reaction and accidentally caught people getting up to leave as soon as the bell rung.
It has however been noted by a few outlets and people in the building that although a portion of the fans might have left in protest of Roman Reigns in the main event, the show went thirty minutes past the usual three hour mark – and it could have just been people leaving to try and get home and beat the traffic.
