It’s a new year and it appears AEW is shifting some characters motivations as we continue into 2021. We’ve seen Lance Archer acting more like a face. The Young Bucks seem to be playing both sides. Kenny Omega is full heel now.
Tonight, we had another full-blown heel turn on the program. During their match, Private Party have embraced Matt Hardy’s leadership and have appeared to turn heel.
During their match with Matt Sydal and Top Flight, while the ref was distracted, Isaiah Kassidy used a chair to attack his opponent.

Marq Quen seemed shocked at first, but then revealed a sly smile of approval. After the match, Private Party attacked all their opponents and allowed Hardy to hit a Twist of Fate on each of them.
They all celebrate afterward. Private seemed to be losing some ground to new tag teams like Top Flight and The Acclaimed. This heel turn may be what they need to head to the next level.
