Former WWE Star Ted DiBiase Jr Issues Statement After Not Guilty Verdict In Welfare Fraud Scandal

Former WWE World Tag Team Champion Ted DiBiase Jr has issued a statement after being found not guilty in a welfare fraud scandal.

There has been an ongoing case in Mississippi over the past few years involving WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase and his sons Ted DiBiase Jr and Brett DiBiase.

On March 20, Mississippi news outlet The Clarion-Ledger reported that DiBiase Jr had been found “not guilty of all criminal counts in his indictment for his involvement” in the scandal.

The report stated:

DiBiase, 43, faced one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and to commit theft concerning programs receiving federal funds, six counts of wire fraud, two counts of theft concerning programs receiving federal funds and four counts of money laundering.

DiBiase was acquitted of all charges, avoiding a potential maximum sentence of 185 years in federal prison.

U.S. District Court Judge Carlton Reeves released DiBiase, who previously pleaded not guilty to all charges and did not testify in his federal case, from all conditions of his bond.

Ted DiBiase Jr’s New Comments

Today, DiBiase Jr took to social media with a new statement, writing:

A Mississippi jury has acquitted me on all charges. I am forever indebted to nationally recognized trial lawyer Eric Herschmann, who guided my overall defense strategy and stepped in to masterfully cross-examine the government’s star witness. I and my family are grateful to him and Jon Gonzales of his firm Herschmann Benson Bowen for their incredible commitment and loyalty. I have seen firsthand and agree with @icecube: Eric Herschmann is the best lawyer in the country!

Thank you for defending my innocence and bring Truth into the light.

Forever Grateful 🙏🏻

Ted DiBiase Jr was with WWE from 2007 and 2013, best known for his time as a member of The Legacy with Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes, during which he became a two-time World Tag Team Champion with Rhodes.
