A former WWE star has recalled seeing Oba Femi’s first-ever entrance, and him instantly connecting with the crowd.
Oba Femi was only officially called up to WWE’s main roster back in January, with him debuting in the 2026 Royal Rumble match.
Oba has already become an instant fan favourite on the main roster, with him set for a clash with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42.
Oba was an almost instant hit in NXT too, and a former WWE star has recalled watching Oba’s first entrance in the company.
Former WWE Star Saw Oba Femi’s Potential From Day One
Former WWE star Dijak was in the midst of his NXT return run when Oba made his debut, seeing his first ever dark match with the company.
Dijak spoke about Oba Femi to Sportshadow, where he recalled Oba instantly connecting with the crowd.
He said:
“The current rendition of his entrance, I saw from when he was literally just in his first dark match ever, and he had stock music, and he made the stock music work.
“To me that was a big sign that he understands the interactivity with the crowd and that part, because he just took a simple beat and turned it into a hand gesture everybody enjoyed.
“They took that sample from the stock music and turned it into his current music. That ‘dun-dun, dun-dun’ part, that began with a stock music thing he was doing with his chest and it got over with the crowd almost immediately, so he understood that interactivity part immediately in his career, so that’s obviously a huge part of professional wrestling.
“And we’re seeing that now, I don’t know if you’re familiar with (Ricky Sosa), within three months he’s already super over because he’s got a thing he does that’s interactive with the crowd, people love that, which is why I came up with the Feast Your Eyes thing with my hands, which could probably benefit from some music getting behind it, it’s always a work in progress.
“But in terms of Oba, his willingness to learn and stay late with us at the Performance Center and do big man classes with a man who helped train me in Ivar, and I would go to those big man classes and help out.
“He’s very early in his career so it’s exciting to watch him and his progress and watch him continually get better. It seems as though Triple H has a big vision and plan for him, which is exciting for someone in that position, I’m sure he’s gonna do incredibly well because he’s just a student of the game and he loves to learn and get better, so it’s exciting to watch.”

What Is Oba Femi’s Potential In WWE?
Unlike a number of other NXT call ups in years past, Oba Femi has immediately been able to translate his success from NXT into success on the main roster.
With Oba already seemingly in line for a major push, the sky may truly be the limit for Femi, beginning with him picking up a victory over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42.
Should Oba score the win over Lesnar at WrestleMania, he could very well be on his way to becoming a world champion before he even reaches the one year anniversary of his main roster call up.
