A former WWE Champion attacked Joe Hendry during the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at last night’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view.
Bound for Glory emanated from the Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit Michigan, with an anticipated TNA World Heavyweight Championship match between Nic Nemeth and Joe Hendry taking the co-main event spot alongside the Full Metal Mayhem match for TNA World Tag Team Titles.
With many fans anticipating Hendry to finally capture TNA’s biggest prize and defeat Nemeth, they were instead given a controversial finish to the bout as a WWE legend made a pivotal appearance towards the end.
Following on from his TNA debut at August’s Emergence event, WWE Hall of Famer JBL once again showed up during another one of Nic Nemeth’s matches, leading to more questions regarding their alliance.
JBL first interfered when Frankie Kazarian attempted to cash-in his Call Your Shot Gauntlet Trophy, an attempt that was unsuccessful as JBL laid him out with a Clothesline from Hell.
Following this Hendry attempted to talk with the former WWE Champion, but too received a Clothesline for his troubles before JBL then also hit another on Nic Nemeth’s brother Ryan.
Following this Nemeth would then retain his title, after hitting two Danger Zone’s on Hendry, marking his fifth title defence in his first reign as TNA World Champion.
You can see footage of JBL’s interference down below.
It remains to be seen what TNA’s plans for JBL are at this point in time, but we will post further updates if/when they become available.
Despite appearing in TNA, AAA and MLW lately, JBL is under WWE contract with the Hall of Famer addressing his status with the company last month.
