A name who has had tenures in both WWE NXT and AEW has compared what his time was like working for both companies.
In 2021, Parker Boudreaux was part of a WWE Performance Center recruitment class that has to be one of the most successful in recent years, boasting names like LA Knight, Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Jacy Jayne, Trick Williams, Tony D’Angelo, Brutus Creed and numerous others.
After debuting on NXT TV as Harland – the silent accomplice of Joe Gacy – just a few months after signing, Boudreaux was released by WWE in April 2022.
Shortly after, he signed with AEW in August, first as a member of the Trustbusters with Ariya Daivari and Slim J, and then with the Mogul Affiliates alongside Swerve Strickland and Trench.
However, he suffered an injury in 2023 and never found his way back to prominence in AEW, eventually leaving the company.
Having now wrestled in places like Japan and Mexico since his departure, Boudreaux is back on the rise and has positive things to say about both big companies he’s spent time with.
Speaking with Going Ringside, Boudreaux compared his time in both WWE and AEW, saying he’s grateful for what both companies did for him.
He said:
“Both of them were amazing to me. That’s where I can kinda compare it. Both were very amazing and gave me amazing… grateful, so grateful for these opportunities.
“Because I came into the pro-wrestling business and didn’t really know how to pro-wrestle, how to do pro-wrestling, so for them to give me a chance so early and put me on a platform and have me on NXT and have me doing matches every single Tuesday on TV on a worldwide platform, and I was only three or four months into learning pro-wrestling, I think it’s an honor.
“It helped me grow so much throughout everything. And I’m grateful for both companies.
“The comparisons – going into WWE, I was Harland, so I was a whole different character, I was a super evil character that didn’t really talk much, I was destroying people, so it was cool, it was great. I never thought I would be that type of character. It just gives you more versatility for a lot of reasons.
“With AEW, I got signed with AEW after I got released with WWE, and that was also a blessing because I got to find Parker Boudreaux, find my character, find the BFD and really work on the beginning of my character outside of WWE.
“Both of them were amazing to me.”
