Former TNA Knockout Announces Retirement

Former TNA Knockout Ayako Hamada has announced her retirement after being placed under probation following an arrest for possession of methamphetamines.

The probation appears to be a three year sentence where if Hamada were to violate, she could face up to 18 months in prison. Hamada was arrested back on May 13 for possession of a banned substance (meth). At the time, she was wrestling for Japanese promotion Pro Wrestling Wave who fired her immediately after learning of the arrest.

Hamada released a statement on July 18 that stated that due to her situation she will be retiring from professional wrestling.

Hamada had wrestled all over the world during her career. She wrestled in Japan and Mexico, while she is likely best known for her work in SHIMMER and TNA where she was a former TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion alongside partner Awesome Kong.
