A former champion has blasted a John Cena 2025 moment as the second worst decision in WWE history.

With John Cena wrapping up his WWE career at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, former ECW Champion star Tommy Dreamer took the time to rank his personal list of the 17-time world champion’s 10 best matches from the past 23 years.

Doing so alongside Busted Open Radio host Dave LaGreca, Dreamer had high praise for three of Cena’s 2025 matches, ranking his Intercontinental Championship win over Dominik Mysterio at number three, his SummerSlam bout with Cody Rhodes at number two, and finally his Crown Jewel 2025 match with AJ Styles as his personal all-time favourite.

However, Dreamer wasn’t a fan of everything Cena was involved in throughout his WWE Farewell Tour.

Whilst discussing Cena’s unwillingness to deter from his babyface values in hostile environments such as in Chicago for his 2011 match with CM Punk at Money in the Bank, Dreamer would bring up Cena’s much-discussed heel turn at WWE Elimination Chamber 2025.

Describing it as WWE’s second worst decision ever, Dreamer said:

“John Cena’s heel turn is number two for worst decision ever.

“I would say the breaking of The Undertaker’s streak is my number one, but the John Cena thing could be number two.”
