A current champion has addressed being “constantly” compared to other blonde wrestlers on the WWE roster, calling it “super frustrating”.
Looking set for a breakout year in NXT in 2026, Izzi Dame kicked off the year with the biggest success of her WWE career thus far: defeating Thea Hail to win the NXT Women’s North American Title at New Year’s Evil on January 6.
Speaking to Bully Ray on Busted Open Radio after the title win, Dame was asked what her long-term goal is in WWE after just three years in the pro wrestling business.
In response, Dame expressed her desire to break free of comparisons to others on the roster and find her own identity, saying:
“Let me give you the answer that everyone gives you. I’m happy where I’m at. Obviously the goal is to always move up to bigger and better things, if that’s not your goal you shouldn’t be here. Your goal should always be to raise the bar for yourself.
“For me I feel like my goal is to find a true identity in this business as I go through this.
“Every time I open my phone I’m constantly being compared to every other blonde on this roster, and it’s so infuriating to me because I feel like I try to just be so authentically me out there.
“And nobody is going to be me, no one is going to be as manipulative, as cunning, as calculated as I am so its like to sit here and compare me to other blondes just because we’re blonde is super frustrating for me.
“So yes it’s awesome to be compared to them, because they’re amazing and great and they’re so talented but I’m just trying to find my own identity that makes me different.”
