Cody Rhodes has revealed his wife Brandi Rhodes’ reaction to him wrestling with a torn pectoral muscle at WWE Hell in a Cell 2022.
One of the most striking images in all of wrestling in the past few years was when Cody Rhodes took off his jacket to reveal a huge bruise over his torn pec, ahead of facing Seth Rollins in a Hell in a Cell match.
Speaking with CHGO Sports, Cody Rhodes revealed what Brandi Rhodes and his mother thought about him wrestling through this injury.
The former WWE Champion recalled:
“My mother and my wife are not sympathetic figures. My mom is like a feisty Cuban woman who, as soon as an argument happens, takes her glasses off, at 71.
“Brandi had been around the business so much, and me… There wasn’t one person in the room going, ‘Oh, you should just go get surgery.’
“I remember her words, ‘Well, you have to do it. It’s your first main event in the company, Peacock subs had jumped for it, you have to do it.’
“My mom just thought it was another day at the office. I thought, ‘Well, that’s a unique family.'”
