A WWE star has addressed his real-life relationship with Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, which pre-dated him joining the company.
Ricky Saints and Cody Rhodes’ friendship dates back to their AEW days, with the duo’s relationship previously receiving a lot of publicity when Saints visited Rhodes backstage at Royal Rumble 2023 while still with AEW.
With Ricky Saints and Cody Rhodes now in the same company – with Saints on NXT and Rhodes on SmackDown – the former NXT North American Champion has discussed his real-life friendship with the American Nightmare.
Revealing what their relationship is like behind the scenes, Ricky Saints told Good Karma Wrestling:
“He’s a really good dude, great dude. Has helped me out tremendously, in wrestling, outside of wrestling, with my family. My family loves him, I love his family.
“To me, he’s just Cody, I don’t think of him as anything like, ‘WWE Champion!’ – that’s just my man right here. He’s doing his damn thing, you know.”
