Cody Rhodes was all set to send the fans home happy after the January 27, 2025, episode of WWE Raw but Carmelo Hayes had other plans.
In the final segment of the show, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk had a war of words in the ring. The show went off the air with Rhodes’ music playing, however this isn’t where the night ended for the live crowd.
In a video shared by Hayes on his own Twitter account, Carmelo Hayes attacked Rhodes before declaring himself for the Royal Rumble and issuing a warning, saying:
“Plot twist, Atlanta, I’m closing this show out.
“Hey, Cody, one thing I learned from you is that sometimes you have to take shots to make shots and I’m declaring myself for the Royal Rumble.”

Hayes would warn Rhodes of what’s to come if “when” he wins the Men’s Royal Rumble match on February 1, 2025.
Additional fan footage would be shared, also on Twitter, showing Rhodes rallying back and hitting a Cross Rhodes on Hayes.
The fans would erupt as they witnessed Hayes being put through a table by Cody Rhodes.
It was quite the night for Rhodes on WWE Raw as he and CM Punk got into a war of words which can be seen below this news story.
