Current IWGP United States Champion Will Ospreay revealed a new championship belt this past weekend.
After his loss in the G1 Climax 33 semi-final, Ospreay revealed a custom IWGP United Kingdom Championship belt in place of his United States Championship.
Ospreay is not the only top star who recently introduced a new custom title, as CM Punk recently revealed the ‘real’ AEW World Championship on Collision.
Taking to his Instagram story, Punk shared a rather tongue in cheek response to Ospreay changing up his title.
He said:
“Bruv, very disrespectful to just change the belt like this. You cannot just do things like this, this isn’t a real belt now I hope Inoki fires you.”
Punk’s comment is, of course, parodying various comments he receieved online after he introduced the ‘real’ AEW World Championship on AEW Collision.
Punk is seemingly set to defend his real AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium next weekend.
Ospreay is likely set to defend his championship against Yota Tsuji in his next defence.
Ospreay is reportedly set to face Chris Jericho at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium.
