Charlotte Flair has discussed a potential split between her and Alexa Bliss on WWE television last year following the formation of their team.
Shortly after WrestleMania 41 and Charlotte Flair’s defeat to Tiffany Stratton, Charlotte quickly formed a new alliance with Alexa Bliss on WWE television.
The two would go on to become Women’s Tag Team Champions at SummerSlam, which kept the pair together on television to this day.
Speaking to Clutchpoints, Charlotte opened up on the alliance between her and Alexa, and plans for a potential split between the two last year.
Charlotte noted that it got to the point where ‘it would feel really bad’ if they broke up, questioning why they would break up.
She said:
“We just got to a point where it was like, This feels really good, and it would feel really bad if we break them up, because it’s one thing to have odd couples, but I also think there was a little bit of hesitation because she is so beloved, whereas my character, at that point, was not.
“It was like, will this even work or translate? And it did. I think our real-life chemistry was able to shine on-camera, and then as we were connecting, it’s like, Why would we break them up?”
Charlotte noted during the interview that the alliance began when the company had ‘no creative’ for her after WrestleMania.
