TNA Wrestling star and former WWE star Cedric Alexander has named three wrestlers who make him proud to be in this business.
With Cedric Alexander officially joining TNA Wrestling in June 2025, the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion has had the chance to share the ring with many of the company’s up-and-coming stars.
Speaking with Know Your Wrestling, Alexander stated that his match against Leon Slater at Emergence in August 2025 was one of his favorite matches in a long time.
Alexander recalled:
“The match I had with Leon Slater at (Emergence) was one of my favorite matches I’ve had in a long time. That was the first time I really got to really work with Leon and he surprised me, man.
“It was really refreshing to see, in this phase of my career being the established veteran going against a younger kid, just kinda seeing, not only do I still have it but man, the younger generation is getting hot right now.”

When asked how he feels about the likes of Leon Slater and WWE’s Je’Von Evans, Cedric Alexander also named Jason Hotch as a star he believes deserves the spotlight, stating:
“Guys like that really make me proud to be a wrestler. To steal a phrase from my old trainer George South, they did it the right way.
“They came in, paid their dues, really learned from the business and really adapted their own style, their own personalities.
“Like a Leon Slater, like a Je’Von Evans, or to even speak more about TNA guys, like a Jason Hotch, who I think is very underrated. Guys like that, they really deserve the spotlight, and I’m glad they’re getting that time.”

Je’Von Evans and Leon Slater are often compared by wrestling fans, with both being young high-fliers who exploded on the scene in WWE and TNA respectively.
Slater previously said he and Evans have a healthy level of competition between them, noting that they’re always consciously trying to one-up each other.
With Cedric having worked with some of the biggest names in WWE and TNA, this is significant praise for stars who many believe are future world champions.
Je’Von Evans specifically has publicly shared that it’s his goal to become the youngest WWE world champion in history, with the high-flyer needing to win one of WWE’s top titles within the next two years to break Randy Orton’s record.
