A member of the Anoa’i family bloodline turned on their cousin at an independent event shortly after returning to the ring post WWE exit.
Lance Anoa’i is currently re-establishing himself on the independent scene, following his release from WWE in October.
He had the chance to become HOG World Tag Team Champions with his second cousin Zilla Fatu on Friday (December 19), with the duo challenging for Matt & Jeff Hardy’s gold at House Of Glory Winter Warfare.
The duo were ultimately unsuccessful, with Lance deciding to target his teammate and family member instead.
In the closing moments of this bout, Lance Anoa’i chose to hit Zilla Fatu with a superkick, instead of his prone opponent, Matt Hardy.
Lance then dropped Zilla with a spear before leaving the ringside area, as you can see in the clip below, or at this link.
Lance Anoa’i and Zilla Fatu are second cousins, sharing the same great-grandparents, Amituanaʻi Anoaʻi and Tovaleomanaia Amituanaʻi.
Lance Anoa’i is notably the son of former WWE star Samu, and the grandson of late wrestling legend Afa Anoa’i Sr.
Zilla Fatu is the son of late former WWE star Umaga, and is first cousins to current WWE talents Solo Sikoa and the Usos – who are the sons of Rikishi – as well as Jacob Fatu, whose father was Sam Fatu aka The Tonga Kid.
