With Dupri preventing Lynch of walking out on the match with championship in hand, Lynch would attempt a belt shot, only to be caught with a sunset flip and a two count.

Lynch’s fury would be on display; she would crack Dupri across the back of the head, leading to the referee delivering her DQ verdict.

The WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion has now addressed her actions, laying the blame firmly at the feet of Dupri and Jessika Carr, the official for the match.

Speaking on Instagram, Lynch revealed that Dupri had delivered a close-fisted punch and wore ‘illegal’ nails, according to the champion’s experts, stating:

“Hello, I thought it was very important that I address the nation of the WWE Universe.

“Last night, there’s been some chatter about my conduct, as if I acted in an unsportsmanlike manner, which I can tell you is absolutely not true.

“In the match, clear as day, everybody saw it, Maxxine closed-fist punched to my face. An illegal maneuver. Jessika Carr should have disqualified her.”

“What’s more, an illegal maneuver with an illegal object. I’ve verified this through experts, through nail technicians.  They have verified that the nails that Maxxine Dupri was wearing would cause intense damage to the lip.”

Lynch would explain that this was why she attempted to walk away from the match, noting that it was her opponent who prevented her from taking her moral stance, saying:

“Something that I said, ‘okay, that’s it. You know what? I’ve had enough. I’m not going to stoop to any… I’m not going to stoop to a level that is not my highest self.’

“So, I took myself out there, I took a walk. I said, ‘Okay, that’s enough, I’m not going to stoop any lower’.  And, she wouldn’t have it. She wouldn’t let me go.”

Lynch holds two victories over Dupri, with their first match taking place in August of this year.

Along with the DQ victory, Dupri also defeated Lynch via Count Out on the October 6 episode of WWE Raw.

With her close association alongside Natalya, Dupri recently spoke about training at The Dungeon and confirmed she wants the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
