When discussing his ongoing feud with Drew McIntyre, Jacob Fatu has seemingly suggested that “backstage politicking” has been a factor ahead of their potential WWE WrestleMania 42 match.

While CM Punk and Roman Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 42 has been nailed on for quite some time, WWE’s plans for the Undisputed WWE Championship at “The Grandest Stage of Them All” has been a rollercoaster filled with twists and turns.

With Cody Rhodes being dethroned by Drew McIntyre for the title on the January 9 episode of SmackDown, it appeared as if Drew would be holding the gold heading into WrestleMania 42, with reports prior to Elimination Chamber suggesting that either a McIntyre vs. Rhodes rematch or a potential three-way also involving Jacob Fatu could be booked for the two-night PLE in Las Vegas.

Ultimately however, neither of those ended up being the plan as Randy Orton won the Elimination Chamber to earn his title shot at WrestleMania 42, and McIntyre lost his title to Rhodes on the March 6 episode of SmackDown.

With Rhodes vs. Orton being WWE’s choice of direction for WrestleMania 42, McIntyre and Fatu have continued their feud and appear to be bound for a singles match at “The Show of Shows.”

Speaking with Bootleg Kev, Fatu got fired up about the feud, saying he only cares about beating Drew, and not backstage “politics”, the match being at WrestleMania or it being for a title.

Fatu said:

“I’m one of the coldest cats out here, Don’t get the smile twisted. We could say Jacob had a hard life, I made changes, nah this ain’t this. Drop all that. I’m talking about right now. Drew’s accomplished a whole lot, I’m not taking nothing away from Drew. Drew is one of the baddest cats on the planet.

“Okay we get that. I haven’t been in WWE that long, but don’t get it twisted I’m one of the baddest cats. I’m one of the dopest. I’m one of the hardest cats up in there. I will slap the s**t out of you and smile and give you a hug right after.

“What I’m trying to say is, I’m a man bro, I got my kids. There can be no, good luck, it was your best shot, try again. No man, we’re not doing that. I’m a man. Drew’s a man. Besides the whole backstage people politicking, people saying there’s a stipulation, I don’t need a title bro. I’m not wrestling for no title. I came here to make money, to take care of my family.

“Somebody’s going to lose. It don’t need to be at WrestleMania, it don’t got to be this buildup, this ain’t nothing.

“This is just with everything going on in the back, to the politics, to the stipulations, to everything. Let’s keep it 100, I’m not losing. Somebody has to lose. This ain’t got nothing to do with no work, no build up. This is nothing.

“Now, you bringing it up for a good reason because I’ve just been a little hot. And even the company knows, I will get released from this s**t, because if Drew, we really want to take it like that. We talking about taking food off my family’s table. In this company, and y’all seen it before, one loss, okay I just got here. There’s no way in hell I’m going down here.”
