AJ Styles has shared his honest thoughts on his retirement tour, after stepping away from the ring for good.
The Phenomenal One’s retirement tour had less fanfare than the likes of John Cena’s, with Styles hanging up his boots after losing to GUNTHER at Royal Rumble.
Despite WWE not advertising an official retirement tour for Styles, the former WWE Champion revealed his true mindset behind his retirement tour, stating on WWE Now: Raw Recap that he treated the period between WrestleMania 41 in April 2025 and Royal Rumble in January as his WWE swan song.
When asked for his thoughts on his retirement tour, Styles said:
“I look at my own retirement tour as pretty good, some quality matches. The matches that me and Dragon Lee had with New Day, making those moments that we had in those tag matches, they were fun, they were entertaining.
“Then to go and have a singles run with a couple guys in that same frame as John Cena, Shinsuke Nakamura, CM Punk, GUNTHER, those were some good matches, those were some good match-ups.”
