AJ Styles has revealed what he’ll miss the most about WWE following his retirement from in-ring competition at Royal Rumble 2026.
Although speculation remains regarding whether AJ Styles will continue his in-ring career outside of WWE in the future, for now, it seems as if fans won’t see “The Phenomenal One” back competing in the company for some time following his loss to GUNTHER at the Royal Rumble.
While fans will feel Styles’ absence on WWE TV, he has named what aspect of his time in the company that he will miss the most following his retirement.
Appearing on What’s Your Story? With Stephanie McMahon, AJ Styles discussed his bonds with other WWE talent and how much he’ll miss that now he’s no longer an active roster member.
After listening to a compilation of personal well wishes sent to him from WWE stars such as Randy Orton, Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura, Styles said:
“That’s what I’m gonna miss the most, those guys and hanging out with them, spending time with them.
“When you’re alone and you’ve got no one it’s nice to have those guys around. Everybody has problems, stuff they’re going through and to be able to bounce it off them and know you’re not alone means everything.
“Sometimes you never know what you mean to somebody, but I’m glad I never took a day off from trying to mean something to them. I always wanted to be there for those guys, not just be another wrestler that thinks of themself but thinks of them first and what we can do together in that ring.”
