A WWE champion has addressed the possibility of a singles match against AJ Lee, stating that they want to retire the star.
AJ Lee returned to the ring for the first time in a decade at Wrestlepalooza in September 2025, teaming with CM Punk to defeat Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins.
She met Lynch in the ring again at Survivor Series 2025, scoring a submission victory over The Man to win the WarGames match for her team.
Following these recent run-ins, AJ Lee named Lynch as one of her favorite female wrestlers of this generation.
Reacting to this, Becky Lynch noted the following on ESPN First Take:
“All I can say is she has a wonderful taste in women, terrible taste in men. She’s right, everybody loves me, I am great, I’m wonderful.
“She’s also claimed that she has tapped me out, which is false, so while she might love me, I wouldn’t say that I love her.”

After explaining why she, in fact, didn’t actually tap out to AJ Lee, Becky Lynch stated that she would like to retire AJ.
Challenging AJ Lee to show up at Royal Rumble, Lynch said:
“If she would like to show up, I would like to beat her and retire her and send her off again, and hopefully we won’t see her for another decade.”
