A current AEW star has opened up on their recent short film appearances and a potential future acting career.
Alongside being the newest member of the Opps, AEW star HOOK has also begun a career in short films, with his most recent short film ‘Money Talks’ making the Oscar long list for Best Live Action Short Film.
During an interview with Busted Open Radio, HOOK opened up on making his short film debut, working with his former college roommate.
He said:
“I just debuted in my first short film, we premiered at Tribeca Film Festival this past Summer. It’s a group of friends I made this film with. My roommate from college, we dropped out together, and he was the director of this film, we were talking about ideas for it back when we were living together.
“We were just on the Oscar long list for Best Live Action Short Film, unfortunately found out yesterday we didn’t make the shortlist. I think we got snubbed but it’s alright, it’s a really good place to start, and we’re already working on shooting our next piece.
“It’s called Money Talks, it takes place in 1981 New York City on Inauguration Day, it follows around a $100 bill, the $100 bill’s the main character, as it gets transacted you follow around the stories of whoever is in possession of the dollar. It’s all these disconnected stories but at the end it will all tie together.

When asked about what HOOK would want next in his acting career, he noted that he will be playing the lead in his next short film.
He said:
“I’d love to be a leading man, this next piece we are shooting I’ll get the opportunity to lead, so that’ll be my first chance leading, but really I’m looking to get as much experience as possible and really find different lanes and try different things out.”
