An AEW star has confirmed their desire to challenge for another company’s world championship following a recent event.
CMLL Domingo Familiar took place on November 23 at Arena Mexico and saw multiple AEW stars in action, including a CMLL Heavyweight Championship main event, with Gran Guerrero defending the title against AEW’s The Beast Mortos.
With Guerrero retaining the championship, the result caught the attention of AEW’s Powerhouse Hobbs, who seemingly saw a challenge in his future, tweeting:
“Hmmm…🤔”
With Hobbs posting the message, many assumed that he was eying up a future shot at the CMLL Heavyweight Championship held by Gran Guerrero.
Responding to Fightful’s tweet in regards to his tease, Hobbs confirmed he is looking to challenge for the title, saying:
YOU GOT DAMN RIGHT
Hobbs has yet to make his debut for CMLL amid the partnership with AEW, though he did compete in Arena Mexico at AEW’s Grand Slam Mexico event earlier this year.
Hobbs currently reigns as an AEW World Trios Champion alongside Katsuyori Shibata and new AEW World Champion Samoa Joe in The Opps.
