A current champion has laid out a challenge to long-absent AEW star Chris Jericho.
It has now been almost a year since fans last saw Chris Jericho compete inside an AEW ring, with the former WWE star’s last match being against Bandido at AEW Dynasty in April 2025.
While there were reports of Jericho’s AEW contract expiring at the end of last year, he currently remains listed on the company’s roster page, which has cast doubt on an imminent return to WWE.
Despite his status being unclear, current AEW National Champion Ricochet has boldly taken to Twitter to lay out a challenge to “Y2J.”
Poking fun at Jericho’s music career whilst he’s out on tour with Fozzy, Ricochet wrote:
Hey @IAmJericho when you’re done with your karaoke tour, I got a #NationalTitle match waiting on you.
Despite handing out a title opportunity to Jericho, Ricochet seems more likely to defend his National Championship against Jack Perry after Perry pinned him during the Mile High Madness Match on AEW Dynamite.
Hey @IAmJericho when you're done with your karaoke tour, I got a #NationalTitle match waiting on you. 👑
