AEW World Champion MJF is set for a match with a former WWE star after recently firing shots at them on social media.
Earlier today, AEW World Champion MJF took to social media, where he went off on Nic Nemeth after comments he had made on Busted Open Radio.
Nic Nemeth’s Comments On MJF
Speaking about MJF’s segment with Kenny Omega from last night’s AEW Dynamite show on Busted Open Radio, Nemeth commented on MJF’s performance, and believing he was phoning it in.
He said:
“The pressure is on Max because this is a moment for him to become great. You need to have some semblance that says if your thing is the talking, you better talk my ass into the ring because everyone else is backing it up in the ring.
“So if Kenny’s got the wrestling, we need Max to be better than a C+ version of The Miz, we need him to draw us in with his special abilities, Kenny will take care of the wrestling, draw us in with the reason you are the champ right now and leading AEW.
“Don’t half-ass it, don’t take the low-hanging fruit, do something big, get everyone talking about you so they’re not comparing you 10 years down the line ‘remember when Max got carried to a couple of good matches and he could talk, so he got us all in there talking about it’.
“This is a real chance to become a genuine 10/10, Madden create a character 99 freaking awesome champion for AEW, and so far I’m disappointed in Max because he kind of phoned it in last night…”

MJF’s Response To Nic Nemeth
Responding to Nemeth’s comments, MJF would fire back at Nemeth, referring to him as an ‘overhyped midcarder’.
He said:
I’ve been listening to @NicTNemeth trashing me through veiled “advice” and “notes” on busted open for months when in reality he’s just shitting on me out of jealousy.
This dude actually said I remind him of a younger Dolph Ziggler.
lol. I don’t remember ever being an overhyped mid carder.
This dude is delusional. This dude is jealous. And most importantly this dude should keep my name out of his fucking mouth.
I’m the most complete professional wrestler in the world. you couldn’t lace my boots or carry my mic.
Say my name again on your little show and I’ll beat the fucking shit out of you.
You know where to find me.
In the meantime I’m gonna focus on my world title defense against “The God” Kenny Omega at Dynasty.
Cuz I only face the best of the best.
Lmk when the spirit squad guy belongs in that conversation.
MJF vs. Nic Nemeth Announced
Following the back and forth between the two men, former WWE star Brian Myers announced that a match between Nemeth and MJF would take place at his Create A Pro Wrestling promotion on May 1.
He tweeted:
I’ve talked to both parties involved and they’ve mutually agreed to settle this.
Not many dream matches left out there in professional wrestling. But, this is certainly one of them…
@CreateAPro Wrestling is proud to officially announce:
May 1st, Melville, New York @The_MJF vs @NicTNemeth
Myers’ Create A Pro Wrestling School trained a number of major AEW stars, including MJF himself, Kris Statlander and others.
Who Should End MJF’s AEW World Championship Reign?
After winning the title for the second time back at Worlds End in December, MJF has found himself being hunted by a number of top AEW stars in pursuit of his title.
After defeating Brody King and Adam Page, MJF’s next defence is set to be against Kenny Omega at the upcoming AEW Dynasty event in Vancouver on April 12.
While Omega winning his second AEW World Championship would make for an awesome moment, Dynasty doesn’t feel like the right time to end MJF’s ongoing run with the belt.
When the time comes, AEW has the chance to either surprise the world, and anoint Andrade El Idolo as World Champion after a rapid ascent in the company this year, or wait until their return to Wembley in August, where Will Ospreay should walk out as the AEW World Champion.
