AEW star Kyle Fletcher has shared his honest thoughts on his TNT Championship reign, explaining how he views title title run.
Fletcher won the TNT Championship from Dustin Rhodes in a Chicago Street Fight on the July 31 edition of Collision.
Speaking with The Takedown on SI, Fletcher noted that he sees his TNT Championship as both the culmination of 12 years of hard work, and the chance to prove himself for the future.
Addressing speculation that he’s preparing for a world title reign, Fletcher explained:
“The TNT Championship really feels like the first piece of real life evidence that I can hold onto in my hands like this is what all my hard work is for.
“The fact that I can hold something in my hands and look at it and reflect on the 12 years of work that I’ve put in to get it, that’s what it represents to me. I look at that title and I look at it as an opportunity to kind of lay the groundwork.
“It’s like, give me this championship, let me run with it, let me make this championship into something great, so then you can see what I can do for the tag championship, the trios championship, the world championship. This is really my chance to show what I can do for a title and how I carry it and whatever.
“If I can be in that conversation of greatest TNT Champion of all time, I think that when I move on to whatever the next step is, there is that trust that I can carry it to greatness, if that makes sense, and make whatever title I hold feel like the most important title in the world.”
