A WWE star has claimed to have suffered a “serious neck injury” during their most recent match on Monday Night Raw.
On the August 18 episode of WWE Raw Xavier Woods sought to get revenge on Penta after the masked star caused “irreparable damage” to The New Day star’s $12,000 “grieving hat” two weeks prior.
Unfortunately for Woods his attempt at revenge was not successful, as despite his best efforts to prepare for Penta’s Mexican Destroyer ahead of the match he ended up losing the match courtesy of that very move.
Following the loss, Woods claimed to be suffering from “searing neck pain”, referring to the Mexican Destroyer as an “illegal” move, and now Xavier has doubled down on his claims, stating that he suffered a “serious neck injury” due to taking Penta’s finisher.
In a video posted to Twitter, a neck brace-wearing Woods lamented Raw general manager Adam Pearce’s “irresponsibility” at allowing Penta to deliver the move, which he once again claimed was illegal due to its similarity to the Piledriver, which has been banned from WWE for many years.
Woods claimed that the negligence of Adam Pearce showed after he was hit with the move was another example of the “double standards” shown towards he and Kofi Kingston, citing the urgent medical care that both Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes received after they were hit by Piledrivers by Kevin Owens in late 2024 as evidence of this.
Going as far as to say that Adam Pearce purposely sent Penta to injure him, Woods said:
“Adam Pearce sent his masked mercenary to shatter every bone in my neck all because he doesn’t want to give The New Day out well deserved rematch for the Tag Team Championship.”
Thankfully for Xavier, his tag team partner Kofi Kingston has been booked in a singles match with Penta on the August 25 episode of WWE Raw in Birmingham, England.
Also taking to Twitter, Kofi vowed to “avenge” Woods on Raw:
The ones who keep telling you they’re not scared are the most scared of all… @PENTAELZEROM was so piss-pants scared of losing to @AustinCreedWins last week that he cheated using an illegal pile driver attempting to maim him.
I’ll avenge Woods & stop this heathen once & for all.
