A segment that had been planned and announced for tonight’s WWE Raw ended up being canceled and removed from the show.
A few weeks ago on Raw, Naomi announced her pregnancy and relinquished the Women’s World Championship.
It was soon confirmed that the match to determine the new champion would be IYO SKY vs Stephanie Vaquer at WWE Wrestlepalooza.
The contract signing for that match was set to take place on Raw tonight.
However, in a backstage segment during the show, Pearce met up with SKY and provided an update on those plans.
Pearce said that Vaquer wasn’t able to be at Raw, and the contract signing segment had to be canceled.
However, Pearce did say that Vaquer should still be able to have the match against SKY as planned at WWE Wrestlepalooza.
There are no details on the reason for Vaquer’s absence from tonight’s show, but we’ll keep you posted if any emerge.
Nikki Bella then came to talk to SKY, at which point a jealous Asuka interrupted and set up a match against Bella tonight.
Asuka continued to act like a heel throughout the match, including using a seemingly unwilling Kairi Sane as a shield.
Asuka did end up picking up the win with the Asuka Lock.
