Former WWE NXT Champion Oba Femi has addressed his in-ring future, sharing an update on how much longer he plans to wrestle.
With Oba Femi running through established stars since his main roster debut in January, it’s clear that WWE sees the recent NXT call-up as the future.
During his appearance on the What’s Your Story? podcast with Stephanie McMahon, Oba Femi was asked where he sees himself at 50 years old.
The 27 year-old addressed the possibility of him being done with wrestling by age 50.
Commenting on his uncertainty surrounding his plans for this age, Femi explained:
“I want to be a father when I’m 50. I know a lot of guys say, ‘Oh I should be done by 50,’ but I don’t know.Who knows?
“But for now, I’ll go with the trend, I would like to be done by 50 in wrestling. I see myself giving back at that point in my life, in whatever capacity.
“Even if it’s in throwing, shot put, I still have a lot of knowledge that I acquired over the years that I can give to somebody. Hopefully it’s wrestling too.
“Hopefully I’ve done a lot of things, I’ve done it all, so I have things in the vault to give back and train someone else and watch them become something too. I don’t know, I’m halfway there.
“I’m kind of a close proximity guy. I think about evolving but I don’t think about evolving to this set point in the future. I just think about getting better than I am now, so I can’t really tell you about what I want when I’m 50.”
