It sounds like one particular young WWE star is in line for a major push and is being touted as someone with a big future in the company.
For the past few years, Shawn Michaels has operated as the head of NXT – with the official title of WWE Senior Vice President, Talent Development.
Michaels was in Las Vegas last night to be part of the WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia announcement, as well as being at the WWE & AAA Worlds Collide show later on.
While in Vegas, he was interviewed by Shannon Sharpe for Nightcap, and was asked if there are any current WWE or NXT talents who remind him of himself.
Michaels responded by highly praising one talent in particular – Je’Von Evans. He said:
“From an NXT standpoint, we have an unbelievable roster, I think somebody who you have to keep an eye on, he’s 21 years old, and his name is Je’Von Evans.
“He’s unbelievably dynamic, unbelievably talented, gifted. He just turned 21 I believe. The future is so bright for that young man, he’s gonna be somebody that’s going to be very big in the WWE.
“I think probably before long, he’ll probably be a flagbearer in NXT. We’re excited to see the trajectory of his career.”

Evans has yet to win a championship in NXT since his debut in early 2024, but has had several high profile title matches, including challenging Oba Femi for the NXT Title in the main event of Heatwave a few weeks ago.
Although he hasn’t been fully called up, he has already made his main roster debut as he teamed with Rey Fenix for a match on SmackDown in May against Los Garza.
