WWE are reportedly “in negotiations” with a major name ahead of WrestleMania 42 on April 18-19.

Following on from  Tom Brady taking shots at pro wrestling over the past month or so, a new report has shared details regarding the seven-time Super Bowl winning quarterback having a role at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, NV.

According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE are “in negotiations” with Brady, but there has not yet been a deal agreed between the two sides:

“From what I have been told, they are in negotiations for Tom Brady but there’s absolutely not a deal at this point for Tom Brady.

“So it could happen, obviously Logan Paul and Tom Brady are working, everyone knows they’re working the angle I think people have seen that coming in, but there could be something in some form at WrestleMania.

“It would not be a surprise and what they did in the football game was clearly to build it, all the talk of Tom Brady cutting down pro wrestlers and all the wrestlers responding, that is all storyline.

“That is not Tom Brady’s a d**k and he doesn’t respect pro wrestling.”

How Did Tom Brady End Up At Odds With The WWE Locker Room?

The origins of Tom Brady’s recent issues with the WWE locker room stem from his appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast on February 10.

During the pair’s conversation, Paul brought up his participation in Brady’s Fanatics Flag Football Classic on March 21, which also included current and former NFL stars such as Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, Tyreek Hill and many others.

Brady told Paul that he was “worried” for him due to the athletes taking part, which led to Paul to respond by bringing up examples of his feats of athleticism inside a WWE ring, something Brady responded to by describing WWE as “cute.”

Brady’s comments led to a back-and-forth with Paul on social media, while notable WWE names such as Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre and CM Punk took the opportunity to swipe back at the former New England Patriot.

Brady wasn’t done there however, as he doubled down on his comments by referring to pro wrestling as “fake BS” whilst speaking to Sports Illustrated, something that led to even more blow back from the WWE locker room.

As mentioned by Meltzer, Paul and Brady would then get into it during the aforementioned Flag Football Classic game in Los Angeles on Saturday, with the 48-year-old throwing the ball at Logan after a play.

Tom Brady Vs. Logan Paul At WWE WrestleMania 42?

At the time of writing Logan Paul does not have a match at WWE WrestleMania 42, but has been heavily involved in The Vision’s recent issues with Seth Rollins since “The Visionary” made his return at Elimination Chamber 2026.

However, with Bron Breakker potentially on his way back from his hernia-related absence, it appears as if Rollins vs. Breakker would be a likelier direction than Rollins vs. Paul.

While this may lead to Paul and Austin Theory challenging for The Usos’ WWE World Tag Team Titles in Las Vegas, Tom Brady’s potential involvement could change things.

A one-on-one match between Paul and Brady is packed with star power and crossover mainstream appeal, but given the NFL legend’s comments he will be considered a heel by the WWE fans, making a match with the also hated “Maverick” an unlikely route for WWE to take.
