WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has reacted to the departure of Jazmyn Nyx and the circumstances surrounding it.

Nyx was written off NXT TV last week and it emerged she was leaving WWE, which she later explained was due to her not being happy with the money she was offered by WWE to re-sign.

Speaking on Busted Open, Bully Ray has commented on Nyx’s exit, and specifically the mindset of the athletes coming into WWE from other sports compared to those who come from pro-wrestling backgrounds.

He said:

“If Jazmyn Nyx would have trained at a wrestling school, wrestling would have been her passion and her dream. She most likely would have stayed put and grinded it out.

“One thing about wrestlers – they will accept the grind to chase the dream. But when you get pulled in from soccer, MMA, football, whatever, it’s not the same. You don’t have that burning sensation in you, that burning passion.

“Like a Stephanie Vaquer, who told me that wrestling was her nourishment when she didn’t have enough food to eat.

“That doesn’t burn in Jazmyn Nyx. It’s not that same mental state. Not that same pit of your stomach grind where you need to do it, you need to make it.”

Bully Ray is also a coach on WWE LFG, so he at least has a hand in mentoring Performance Center athletes before they debut on NXT as part of that show.
