Wrestling fans are still recovering from last night’s Forbidden Door event, which featured a match that is sure to be on a lot of people’s match of the year lists.
The match in question saw Will Ospreay defeat Kenny Omega to regain the IWGP United States Championship in a rematch of their first encounter from Wrestle Kingdom 17.
Since the match, Omega has taken to Twitter to praise Ospreay, saying that the better man won the match on the night.
Now, Ospreay has also reflected on the match, saying that beating Omega was the ‘most challenging’ task of his life.
He wrote:
Kenny Omega is once in a lifetime. There will never be anyone that will be able to master the craft the way he has. Overcoming him was legitimately the most challenging and yet rewarding task of my life. While everyone can say they’re “all elite” You can say you’re above elite
Ospreay spoke during the post-show scrum, where he said that he will likely be ending his time wrestling on the independents soon.
